The Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association is pleased to offer awards programs to our membership and all of Virginia.

In memory of one of VLWAs founding members, Col. Leo Bourassa, VLWA has created the Leo Bourassa Scholarship Award. The Scholarship is awarded to a Virginia student enrolled in course work that will benefit the water resources of Virginia.

Scholarship information and application

In cooperation with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation Division of Dam Safety and Floodplain Management, we have a Dam Safety Awards program. Awards are given for the Best Maintained Dams in Virginia for various categories.

VLWA Regional Science Fair Awards

In order to promote educational awareness of our mission at the middle and high school grade levels, the VLWA offers special awards at the regional science fairs located throughout the Commonwealth.
