Business of the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association is conducted according to a set of Association Bylaws.  Regular meetings of the general membership throughout the year are considered impractical since membership is widely dispersed throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Day-to-day business of the association is conducted by it's Board of Directors.  

At least one meeting of the general membership is held annually--usually in conjunction with the association's annual water conference.  Directors and Associate Directors are elected to sit on the Board of Directors at this annual meeting.  The Board, in turn, elects the association's officers from among the elected Directors.
