The Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association is organized and operated as a corporation within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to conduct scientific and educational efforts to protect the quality and uses of Virginia Lakes and Watersheds.

The Board of Directors for the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Assocation is elected for 2-year terms by the General Membership.  Officers are elected by the Board for 1-year terms.  There are also Associate Directors that are non-voting members of the Board.  These are people that would like to become more involved in the activities of the Association and may be elected as Directors.
