2002 Conference

Virginia Water Conference 2002

After several successful years in Fredericksburg, The Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association has decided to hold this year's Annual Virginia Water Conference in Virginia Beach. The conference will be held at the Double Tree Hotel, which is offering a tremendous room rate ($55 per night). The facilities look great and are very close to the beach and all the other Virginia Beach amenities. The conference has hosted approximately 200 participants at each of the past few conferences and we hope to continue a strong attendance from Federal, State, and local agency employees, lake owners and operators, consultants, product vendors, etc.

The association's Board of Directors has formed three technical groups to support Virginia's lake and watershed stakeholders in the following areas:

Surface and Groundwater Issues
Watersheds
Regulations and Administration

Our Directors will be soliciting presentations in these areas over the next few months.

In addition to the solicited presentations, we encourage the submission of abstracts for consideration. Please e-mail abstracts to Stuart Stein (sstein@gky.com). each abstract must include author name, address, phone number, and e-mail address as well as a 1/2- to 1-page abstract of the presentation. Individuals are also encouraged to submit proposed sessions, which would include abstracts for 3 to 5 topically-related abstracts along with the same contact information for each presenter.
